Nicholas Cassino, President
As the Managing Director for CB Richard Ellis in Tacoma, Washington Nick oversees a full service commercial real estate company, which is part of one of the largest commercial real estate services companies in the world.
Nick, together with his wife Val, look forward to shifting their life focus towards full-time humanitarian work. They have been active in international humanitarian work over the years and have formed their own non-profit foundation called "Picture the World". One goal is to meld this foundation, or at least the concept of it, into their life focus as they redirect their time and resource commitments away from their current careers towards a "second career" . . . one that will be spiritually rewarding and life- enriching while serving the needs of those in the world who have the least.
Nick earned a BA degree in Political Science from Western Washington University and a Masters in Economics from Fordham University.
Zaheen Nanji, Vice-President
Zaheen grew up in Kenya, East Africa and immigrated to Canada at the age of 15. She moved halfway across the world without her parents to a land with a different culture and strange weather. Learning to do everything by herself at that age taught her to overcome fear and obstacles and create new opportunities for her life in a new country.
Her mission is to show and help people create the life they want and get them on the road to success. Her motto is, "Action will always lead you to success."
Zaheen's family and community are dedicated to improving living conditions and opportunities for the poor, without regard to their faith, origin or gender.
Zaheen is known to walk the talk and is rapidly gaining the reputation of being called "a difference-maker".
Zaheen is a Law of Attraction Trainer and a Neuro Linguistic Programing (NLP) Practitioner and also has a real passion for real estate investing.
Zaheen's husband and she own and operate Shanti Wellness Centre. They have a 4-year old daughter.
Bill Garbarino, Secretary/Treasurer
Professor Bill Garbarino is a full time faculty member at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. For the past 5 years he has also been the Program Coordinator for the Business Marketing diploma, and 2 business certificate programs. As a course instructor Bill specializes in areas of Sales Management and Strategic Marketing Planning.
Prior to joining Algonquin College in late 2003 Bill enjoyed a 28 year career in Sales & Marketing. 17 years (1986-2003) were spent with Bell Canada Enterprises (BCE), including 5 years seconded to Stentor Inc, the national marketing arm of the regional telephone companies.
Bill's Management roles included Regional Sales Manager, Long Distance and Telemarketing Consulting Support Director, and Vice President of Bell Canada's E-Marketing & Distribution channels unit called Bell Direct™. Bill finished up his successful management career from 2000-2003 at BCE Emergis as Senior Vice President of the Product Management and Product Marketing units.
Bill is an avid athlete and he continues to coach youth Ice Hockey and Ball Hockey teams. He supports many charities including sponsoring a Plan International Foster Child for over 20 years, Cancer fundraising and awareness events, and local youth activities. Bill is married for 23 years with two boys, ages 16-18. He is a native of New York and has spent the last 25 years in Canada.
